Things That Help Me…
Making reflection-based lists can be another helpful way of pulling thoughts out of our mind and into more clarity for action. Take a few moments to make a list (or lists) of things that help you. Perhaps have a notebook handy to write down your reflections.
Settle into a comfortable seated position. Your eyes can be open or closed. Your hands can be anywhere in your lap or on your body that’s comfortable. Take a few breaths and simply begin to observe your breathing. With each breath, presence yourself more and more in your body and in this moment.
Make of list (or lists) of:
Things that help alleviate my stress
Things that help me calm down
Things that help my body feel energized and light
Things that help nourish my body
Things that help me sleep at night
Feel free to carry on and create your own “things that help me..” lists. After you’ve finished writing down your reflections, pause and take a few slow breaths to simply take in the experience.
